SWIMMING

NEW ZEALAND SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS. Koen interest is Mug evjnced in the Now Zealand schools swimming championships, which are to be decided at Tβ Aro Bathe om Saturday afternoon. Thie will bo tho first carnival of its kind held in. the Dominion, and it is anticipated that the public will lend its support liberally. It is (essentially a gathering of sohool champions, who will come from as far north pe Auckland, and as far south as Dunedin. Besides four championship, events there wjll be the annual competition for tho Duthie Cup—always a popular item —in which four boys from each school in Wellington will, competo aa a separate team. During tho afternoon the proceedings will be enlivened by the Trentbam Band, whiph will render selections. Any surplus is to be handed over to the Returned Soldiers' Club.
