Jones were pre- . sent at the monthly meeting of the Wellington Harbour Board held last evening. ; ' ■ The statement of finance showed that the current account was £2-3,316 4s: Bd. to credit, and the imprest account was £2914 165.. 3d. to credit; The amount on fixed deposit was £60,000. Payments were as follows':—Accounts and wages, £19,369 9s. 6d.: .progress payments on contracts,, £2691 18s. Bd.; ealaries for February,- £89!) 3s. 4d. The Wharves and Accounts Committee recommended tho board to approve of an amendment to by-law 271, increasing call fees 'on -ferry' boafis at suburban wharves from 2s. to Bs. per -call, such amendment to come into force on' April 1 next. 'The chairman referred to the. alterations. and improvements to the Day's Bay wharf, and he said that an arrangement had been made with the parties concerned to make the extra charge as soon as the improvements were made. Tho change was being made- accordingly. Tho recommendation was agreed to. _On the recommendation of the Wharves'and Accounts Committee it was decided to call-for tenders for tho annual supply of.coal, for the removal of rubbish, and for cartage. Tenders are to close on Wednesday, March 28.
