HUNGER IN NEW YORE GHETTO
FOOD RIOTS AND WOMEN'S DEMONSTRATION. New York, February 20. After riotously destroying the pushcart pedlers' etocks of vegetables, Inmdreda of the Ghetto women, with babies, made a demonstration in the City Hall Park, demanding the Mayor to reduce the prices of foodstuffs. The police arrested the ringleader, and the women unsuccessfully attempted a rescue. The police scattered ■ the women after the Mayor hadl promised to receive a deputation to-morrow. —Aus.N.Z.
