WETERE AND TAINUI CHANGE HANDS. Mr. A. W. Ogle, the owner of the Wetcre and Taiuui, both well-known on the coast has sold the Wetcre to Messrs. Borthwiek and Sons, cind tho Tainui to tho Wanganui Freezing Company. The Tainui Arrived here on hor first trip yesterday under her new owners, but in future will probably he very little .seen in this port a 6 she is to take up lightering operations at Wanganui. ami was built, slightly over three year** ago at Te Kopuru by Messrs. Brown and Son for Mr. Ogle. Her principnl dimensions aro:-Length, 76ft., breadth 18ft., and depth 94ft. She is registered at Auckland, and is a : one-deck wood screw steamer of 22 r.h.p. Her engines were made by McEsrs. A. and G. Price, Ltd., Thames. The Tainui & a vessel of 128 tons launched' in 1903 from the yards of * Mr. If. Logan, son., of Auckland, for Messrs. Bailey, Ogle, and Co., of Waitara. She was constructed of tho best heart of kauri, and on tho diagonal principle, aud was at that timo for use in tho coal trado between Waitara. and Itokau. Her dimensions are:—Length overall. 98ft.; breadth, 19ft.; and drought, 6ft. 6in. Her engines were fitted by Messrs. A. and G. I'rice, end are on tho compound principle of 24 r.h.p. The Tainui has been in the command of Captain It. Jensen since she was lirst oommiesioed. but, has now changed masters, and Captain .1. l/omior lias taken charge of the vessel. MAORI TAKES JfO CABOO. The Union Company advise that the Maori on- her trip from Wellington to Lyttelton on Friday night will take no cargo on account of having to dock at Lyttelton on Saturday.
