; FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. A meeting, of th» AVellington Cricket Association's Committee was held last evening, and was presided over by ; Mr. C. ,G. Wilson. The secretary reported that in accordance with a resolution, passed at the previous meeting Petone had been asked for an explanation of their playing a man after thoix secretary had been, informed by the chairman (in response to a personal application) tliat they were not entitled to play him. The reply from Petone stated that tko club committee had decided to play the man as they knew of no reason, under the rules of the association, for which they should .not play him. It was resolved that the association regretted the action of the Petone Club in playing Smyrke (the man in question), 'in. breach'of'the'rules, after they had been notified by the chairman of the association that he' was ineligible to play. It was further resolved that Petone be notified that thdy must not play him in the remaining matches of the season. The following matches have been fixed for Saturday:— Junior—College v. University (College ground); North v. Hutt (Hutt ground); "Alarist v. Base Records (Basin Reserve); Old Boys, a bye. Third Grade—lnstitute v. College B (College ground); St. Patrick's Collego v. College A (College ground); Scots College, a bye. Senior—North v. Institute (Basin Reserve); East v. 'University (Basin Reserve); Old Boys v. Hutt (Hutt); Petone, a bye.
