"On the afternoon of Saturday.an assauHrtwas made on the Sannaiyat position, north of the Tigris; the 'enemy? s two front lines were occupied over a frontage of 3150 and 540 yards. Two heavy attacks were launched. IhoJformer was repulsed; the latter was partially successful, forcing our right -back"to its original line. Our loft held on until dusk, when it was withdrawn under cover of artillery fire. South of the Tigris and west of tho Shuinran Bend we made further progress."
