WAR LOAN CERTIFICATES
The- following figures giving t tlie amounts of War Loan certficates sold throughout each of the seventeen postal districts up to and including February 15, together with the total for the Dominion, have been handed to a Dominion representative by the Hon. Arthur M. Myers, Acting-Minis-ter of Finance:—Auckland, £152,878 45.; Blenheim, £29,026 Bs.; Christchurch, £168,109 125.; Dunedin, £167,341 125.; Gisborne, £24,564 ■ Greymouth, £18,567 45.; Hokitika, £8896; Inveracrgill, £70,115 125.; Napier, £70,300 165.; Nelson, £38,343 45.; New Plymouth £55,540 165.; Oamaru, £17,013 Bs. ; Thames. £17,728; Timaru, £44,547 45.; Wanganui, £56,341 125.; Wellington, . £29'9,823 10s.; Westport, £12,300 16s. (Total, £1,251,437 18s. "The last return published," stated Mr. Myers, "showed that up to and including January 23 last the total amount of certificates sold throughout New Zealand was £1,214,380. It will be seen, therefore, that since that date £37,057 worth of certificates have been sold. This represents an average weekly sale of approximately £10,500, and must bo considered very satisfactory."
