WAIRARAPA EGG CIRCLE

ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report of the AVnirarapa Egg Circle for the year ended January 31 states:— "The year has, in consequence of the irar, been a very quidt one, and owing to the high prices ruling for feed many members resigned from the circle. Twenty new members were elected during thp' year as against twelvo for Hie previous year. The membership of the circle now stands at 8-1, as against 83 for last year. During the year, the circle's agents in Wellington, JXasterton, Carterton, and Greytowu disposed of 28,148 dozen eggs, which realised <£2223 9s. 7d., as against 30,422 dozen for .£2os) ss. 7d. in the previous year. The 28,143 dozen were dispatched from the following branches:— Masterton, 12,085; Carterton, 7513; Greytown, 7882; Eketahunn, 3GB; Martinbo'rough, 300 dozen. The circle has a credit balance of 12s. ,od. , - "Tlio annual conference of the New Zealand Poultry Association was again held at Wellington last Easter. Much to the surprise of the conferenco the Goveminent regulation regarding the stamping of imported eggs was not to be enforcable until this j*ear, consequently large importations were received throughout the Dominion, again had tho effect of lowering the price of New Zea- 1 if 111 ? / res is folly expected that further large consignments will be coming in again this year.
