SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS
At Iho Tb Aro Baths on Saturday . afternoon tho local school swiminin" championships wcro hold under somewhat adverse conditions, as t'ho water was hv no means warm, and there was a cold breeze blowing, following are tho results of tho races, most of which were very closely contested. The local girls' championsbip was won by Eleanor Watson (2-ipts.), with Rita I'ulford (Bpts.) as runner-up. Marie Manthel was not eligible. The boys' championship competitiou resulted as follows:—H. Couzens (18pts.), 1; G. S. Eobinson (lOpts.), 2; A. Claridge (Gts.), 3. , Tbo first and second boys and girls in tho local championships will represent Wellington next Saturday in the Dominion School children's Championship. A test race over 440 yards will bo held at tho To Aro Baths at 5.30 p.m. to-day, and the winner will represent Wellington in this distance.
HATAITAI CLUB'S SPORTS. - There was an attendance of about 500 "at the Hataitai Bathing Club sports, which wero held on Saturday afternoon. Tea was nipvidcd, iind a collection was taken up in aid of the Eed Cross Funds. The sum of £2 is. 9d. was collected. Councillor G. Frost, chairman of the .Reserves and Baths Committee, was present, ■ and at the conclusion of the sports presented the prizes to the successful competitors. Time, Sinin. 4isec, The bowl this season goes to S.N. Smith, 12 points; W. G. Walkley, and S. IT. Thompson tieing for second place with 9 points each. .. NEW 220 YARDS RECORD. By .
