In his speech he said tho action of the Union during tho war had given it a permanent voice in the disposal of tho South African continent. While nobody •. could say what the ultimate fate of Gorman Ease Africa would be. the .Union had the right to be consulted in the matter. The interests of South Africa were even more intimate and undeniable in connection with German South-West Africa. General Smuts paid a tribute to the British and Indian co-operation in the East African campaign, and the courage and endurance of the Indiat troops.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
