SEARCH OF NEUTRAL SHIPS
NO COMPLAINTS OF DELAY
London, February 15. Lord Peel's committee regarding .the bringing of neutral vessels to British ports for search, reports that it lias not received any complaints regarding delay from neutral owners. Even exceptional cases of search rarely exceed twenty-four hours, which includes the examining of bills of lading, preparing au analysis of the whole cargo, and telegraphing tho facts to tho Admiralty, the Foreign Office, and the Board of Customs. The committee states that the. ruling consideration throughout is a desire to impose as little inconvenience as possible. The committee recommends that neutrals should expand the system by agreements.—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn.
NEW PORT OF CALL Now York, February 15. It is stated that the British Admiralty _ has substituted Halifax (Nova Scotia) for Kirkwall (Orkney Islands) as a port of call for neutral ships from America; The shipping companies are preparing to resume sailings.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
