SUPREME COURT

9 In tlio Supreme Court yesterday, before His Honour Mr. Justico Chapman, tho case was resumed in which Gershouni Simmons, a negro, was charged with doing bodily harm to John Marshall and Reginald Pierre. Mr. V. .E. Meredith prosecuted, and Hγ. H. P. O'Leary defended. .' Further evidence was called for tho Crown. The defenco consisted in an allegation that the accused had acted solely in self-defence against a murderous attack by Marshall. Pierre had received razor slashes that wore directed at Marshall alone. Tho jury returned a verdict of not gui'lty on tho gronnd tliat accused was justified in his action. Tho prisoner was dischnrged. A RETRIAL BEGUN. The retrial of Charles Henderson on a ehsrge of doing bodily harm to William Fitzgerald was commenced. After part of tho evidence for tho Crown had been given, tho case was adjourned till to-day.
