There was great interest shown in the gas cookery demonstration conducted yesterday by Miss Una Carter in the Gas Company's rooms ,in Courtenay Place. Yesterday afternoon the attendance was .large, and the dishes demonstrated were by requests handed in the week previous, and included ginger sponge, apple pie, beef and bacon squares, tomato and marrow croutons, sponge sandwich, and fried bread and potatoes. A quiet wedding was celebrated on February 7, at tho Baptist Church, Vivian Street, when Mr. 11. Edmonds, of the Wellington Fire Brigade, and son of Mr. A. Edmonds, South Australia, was married to Emily, fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 0. Olson, of Carterton. The bride, who was given away by Mr. H. Cleverly, wore a white satin gown and lace overdress, with veil and orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet. The chief bridesmaid, Miss Mary Olson, sister of tho bride, wore a silk lace dress and pale pink lint, and she carried a pink bouquet. The Misses Lily and Daisy Olson wore blue satin dresses and white hats, and carried blue bouquets. Mr. F. M, Edwards, cousin of tho bride, acted as best man. Among the numerous presents was a marble clock, presented hv the officers'nnd members'of the Wellington Fire Brigade. After the ceremony a wedding breakfast was held at the Burlington.
