..THE--DDKS OF NORFOLK. London, February 11. Tho Duke of Norfolk is dead.—-Aus.-'N.Z. Cable Assn. [Tho late Duko of Norfolk was born in 1847, and succeeded to tlio title in 1860. Ho was Postmaster-General from 1895 to 1900, was first Lord Mayor of Sheffield in 1895, and went out to the South African War in 1900. His position as head of tho English ■ Roman Catholics and as premier Duke and Earl Marshal made him for many years, conspicuous in public- life. His. only son by his first wife, a daughter of Baron Donington, died early in lifo; but by his second marriage (1904) to the daughter of Lord Herriesho had a, son born in 190§. [Sir Melbourno M'Taggart Tait, DiC.L., LL.D., M'Gill .University, was bornin 1842. Ho was appointed Chief Justice of Quebec in 1000.
