SELECTION OF A CANDIDATE. The Hon. AV. D. S. JlacDonald left for Palmerston last night, to proceed to Hastings this morning. There he will meet to-day a number of «a)re6entative men of tlio Hawke's Bay electorate regarding the selection'of a candidate to fill the vacancy created by the deatli of the late member (the Hon. Dr. M'Nab). According to the arrangement made when the National Cabinet was formed, the selection should be approved by Sir Joseph "Ward, and Mr. Mac Donald is acting on Sir Joseph Ward's behalf.
