DESERT FIGHTING
THE SENUSSI PUNISHED ■ The High Commissioner reports:— London, February 9, 10 p.m. The War Office reports: Operations against the main forces of Sayed Ahmed, tho Sentissi leader, in the western desert, were successfully concluded. We attacked tbo enemy, who destroyed a large quantity o£ ammunition and then iled. Wo .captured an onomy convoy in the Munasib Pass, and ambushed tho lending party of the flying enemy. Sayed Ahmed, at the head of tho main body, was forced to strike southwards into tho waterless desert. These operations aro a sovore blow to the Senussi, whose main body was surprised, defeated, and forced to , retire into the desert, their casualties reaching 200 killed and wounded. Wo captured largo quantities of stores and ammunition.
