MEETING-OF,THE COUNCIL. The 'Wellington City Council met last fvening, There were present: The Mayor (Mr. .1. P. Luke), C'oitußillors J. E. I'itzicrald, W. T. Kildrcth, B. A, Wright, T. 'Jfiisli, M, p. Lnckie, W. H. Bennett, L. M'Kenzie, "W. J. Thompson, R. A. Atkinson, J. Iluteheson, J. Godbcr, U. I'l'Qnt, and W. Hi. P. Barber. Councillor Thompson said t.liat fennel was becoming o, serious-nuisance, but'tho Mayor said there wore raoro urgent works iin these times. Facilities for "parkine" private motorcars in tho street were granted in the following streetsßowen Street, Mercer Street,' Hunter Street, Willestou Street, AVhitmorn Street, Marion Street, Aitken Street. The following regulation!? are to ho enforced in connection with the proposal:—(a) All cars to bo backed into thokerb lino (except in Marion Street); (b) e. space of not less than five feet to bo left between ears; (e) cars not to be placed opposite ontrauces (o btiildiutjs or crossing into private property.
