TWENTY-SECOND REINFORCEMENTS
REVIEWED BY THE GOVERNOR. The Twenty-second Infantry and Engineers' Reinforcements were inspected yesterday by His Excellency the Governor at Trentham. His Excellency •was accompanied by the Minister of Defence,and Brigadier-General Sir A. W. Robin, G.0.C., and was met on his arrival at the racecourse by the Camp Commandant, Lieutenant-Colonel H. R. Potter. Colonel C. M. Gibbon, Chief of: Staff, and Lieutenant-Colonel C. R. Macdonald, Chief Infantry Instruotor, accompanjed His . Excellency during his inspection, and other officers who were present were Colonel G. F. Campbell, Coast Defence Commandor, .the four District Commanders, Lieutenant-Colonel J. Hume (Wellington), Lieutenant-Colonel Patterson (Auckland), Lieutenant-Colonel Chaffey (Christchurch), Lieutenant-Colonel Nicholls (Dunedin), Major Sleeman, Major Ncave, Captain Bell (Camp Adjutant), Lieutenant Luckham (Assistant Camp Adjutant), and other Headquarters officers. The-troops,-under Captain J. Keir, were paraded in tho centre of tho racecourse. They made an excellent showing, and in their ceremonial drill and marching did well. The glint of sunlight on the fixed bayonets was striking. After the inspection His Excellency moved to the saluting base and took the salute jis tho troops marched off to tho strains of tho Camp Brass Band. Them were » number of civi,lian onlookers, who commented freely and favourably on the appearance of the .Twßnty-scconds. Tho march off, which was led-by tho Engineers, was made in the following order: — A. Company, Lieutenant H. .Holden; B Company, Captain Keir; C Company, .Captain E. Cuddon; D Company, Lieutenant .1. McLean ; !K Company ,_ Lieutenant F. Airoy; F Company, Lieutenant V. Roche; (J Company, Lieutenant 10. Maude; H. Company, Lieutenant R. Foiivor:. J Company, Lieutenant H. Forrest. After the paraclr.
