NEW ZEALANDERS ABROAD

London, December 14. Tho Bev. 0. W. Duncombe, of Kiccarton, is staying in Belvoir Road', Hull.

The Misses Gower Burns, of diristchurch (N.Z.), are coming to England. Mrs. Eliot Warburton, of Palmer - ton North, is at tho Wardens, Wateringbury, Keat. Mr. Reginald Williams, of Christchurch (N.Z.), is going to join the Motor Boat Patrol.

Miss Marjorie Lindsay, daughter of Dr. P. A. Lindsay, Auckland, is coming to England. Sergt. D. and Pte. H. C. Hunter (Taranaki), of the N.Z.1t.8., are staying at Princes Square, W. Cap Win P. W. Spiers (Oainaru) and Lieut. B. C. Jeffreys (Gisbome) aro at the Strand Palace Hotel.

On Thursday tho Prime Minister of New Zealand (Mr. W. F. Massey), Mrs. and Miss Massey were received by the King at Buckingham Palace. Captain Dovey is taking in hand the amusements at Hornchurch Convalescent Camp, and has begun with a couple of concerts and euchre parties. Mr. George D. Lidgett, formerly of Golden Bay Cement Works, Tarakohe, Nelson, has been accepted for an appointment in the Na.vy. In the meantime he is visiting relatives and friends in Lincolnshire.

Mr. Arthw Pickett is on his way to New Zealand. Mrs. Pickett has taken a suite of rooms at The Mansions, Sundridge Park, Kent, for the school vacation.

Sir Thomas Mackenzie has now a residence in town, Bickenhall Mansions, and will no longer he obliged 1 , as he often was during the lecent rush of work, to stay over night at his office in the Strani,

The Right Hon. W. F. Massey, passing through Diingannon railway station, Ireland, noticed the uniform worn by Sergt. Andrew Kernaghan, N.Z.F.A., who has oeen in en a visit to his aunt, Mrs. Gilohrist, and, inviting the soldier into his saloon carriage, had a talk with him, nnd gave him an invitaton to call on him on hij return to London,

The University of Edinburgh has offered to confer the honorary degree of Doctor of Lauvs on Mr. Massey, Prime Minister of New, Zealand. Unfortunately the pressure of his engagements will, we understand, prevent Mr. Massey from acoepting this record honour during his present visit. The LL.D.. honoris causa, of Cambridge, was conferred on Mr. Massey in November. Sir Joseph. Ward was made an honorary LL.D. of the University of Edinburgh, and of Trinity ..College; Dublin, during a former visit, when he was Prime Minister.
