' The Summer Meeting vrill.be concludi ed to-day.. The acceptances received are i well up to the average of a third day. I The first event oil the card is the Wali laceville Welter, for hacks. The runners are required to be ridden .by ap- " prentices. The favourite will probably ' be the top-weight. Tango, who is a good, " free goer, and should act well tor an : apprentice. The little chestnut mare ha; been .unlucky so far, but she is mosl consistent. , The Open Welter will probably see s duel for favouritism between the topweight, Seadown, and Hyllus. At seven furlongs, on Monday. Hyllus looked an ' easy winner. Samisen ni<iy do consider- " ably better round a turn where her b"lL liancy will be of service, than on a > straight course. Sunny Clinies, who fin- ' ished third in the Hack Welter on Monday, has gone up to the higher class today. ' Probation, who 6addles "up well, considering the racing she has had, should again give a good account of herself. At seven furlongs on Monday sht , appeared ■ to be doing better than. Mas. 5 cot in the Douro Cup, which was a vers - fast race. Providing F. Davis can secure a stronj boy to ride Noir, the All Black geldin; may be the best backed in the Hope ful Stakes, as he showed a lot of pact on the opening day. Hymeona- is a frost horse, and may be well surroorted, a; " he represents a nowerful stable. B Oxenhope, Bst l'Olb., in the Summei i Handicap has a big weight and_ z fast pace would probably beat him Rangitero will be showing signs of hav. ing had two -haid races. Menelaus anc i, Llanishen, both of whom are only mak -. ing their second appearance would botl s appear to have good chances of success. The Kelburn Plate will be the most in J teresting race of the afternoon, as thi ? two-year-olds will .be opposed by thi J elder division. In the Electric Plati II Tete-a-Tete and Bimeter finished in thi •places, and beat the Ivaramu colt. Hy . menstra. -The last-named is probably :

greatly improved colt now. Biplane will be making his first appearance at the meeting and tho raco between he, Hymenstra, and the other pair 6bould bo a most exciting one. A new-comer in the Kaitoke Handicap in Waimatoa a dual winner at Tauhorenikau. Tho Otaki horse has improved a lot lately, and he may be a serious thorn in the side of Form Up. The lafc-' ter is meeting his field on a lot worse terms to-day, but he is a good one. The two light-weights, Galore and Merrie Poto can both be looked for at the finish. In the Consolation Handicap, one mile and a quarter. Red Ribbon, who stands up well to racing, may be the most dangerous. Ardenvhor, Bst. 21b., has the same weight as he had in the .Cup, in which he ran a splendid race for ten furlongs. Chortle does not seem to bo himself and Indigo seems to bo going off. The City Handicap has- only drawn a field of seven, but it bears a very open appearance. Panmure will be making his first appearance at tho meeting and will be coupled with Nystad. This combination will be first choice with backers with Koesian • next in demand. Lady Black has rim two good races. Race visitors: When in Willis Street don't fail to see the smart showing of pen's wear at Herb Price's, Willis Street Advt. TROTTING AT HUTT PARK WELLINGTON CLUB MEETING. it- — J ■ The fourteenth, annual meeting of the , Wellington Trotting Club was held on ■ the club's new track, Hutt Park, yesterday. The weather was fine, and the attendance good. The pub through just on £2000 more than it , handled last year—Xli,2ll, as against .£12,222. ' • The racing was good. The programme opened with the Trial Handicap, for which a field of seven stripped. Tha finish saw tho favourite, Xrix Pointer, win by'a length. Another favourite. Master Hal, scored in the Borough Handicap. The chief event was the. Gold Cup, won by Whispering Willie. Tha trophy, donated by Mr. E. L. Riddiford (the club's president), was presented by Hon. G. W. :Russell, who congratulated the winner. There was a field of seven in tho President's Handicap, in which: ' tho favourites had to strike their colours to Tattles. The Ladies' Bracelet; attracted the biggest field of the day-j a dozen—and it iucluded a- Hataitar production with the pretentious name of Desert Gold. Bidens was made a hot favourite, but the second favourite, Calmly, romped home. Tho Stewards' Handicap fell to Miss Havoc, driven by J. Messeroy, and the win was popular. Lobster scored in the Petone Handicap; and in the final event Nancy Patch won. easily from the favourite, Erin's Queen, W. Gardiner, who rode Wild Palm in; the Petone Handicap, was fined iCo and censured for crossing Red Bell in the straight. ; DETAILS OF THE RACING. HUTT PARK TRIAL.
