FULL OF DRAMATIC INTEREST (Rcc. January 23, 11.35 p.m.) London, January 23. Tho "Daily Telegraph's" Petrograd correspondent says the political situation is full of dramatic interest, and the cause of a curious jumble of ancient ritual and modern superstition. The attitude of the averago Russian is one of bowildercd suspense, and be awaits developments with a stubborn faith. It would be unwise to exaggerate the present mood of the people as essentially ephemeral. The Tsar's rescript is the most favourable indication of Russia's dovotion to the Allied cause.—Aus.-N.Z. Tho "Morning Post's" Petrograd correspondent states that there is much unrest due to the failure of communication preventing food reaching the cities and towns, and the wasteful and costly system of distribution, the whole cost of which falls on tho consumer.
