COMPULSION UNNECESSARY. Amsterdam, January 22. The 'Vorwaerts"- states that at a meeting of the Mass Levy Committee, General Groener declared that owing to the number of volunteers for civilian service compulsion would not be necessary for some time. He admitted that transport difficulties were serious, but would soon be overcome. He hoped, the coal supply would soon bo normal. He attributed tho lack of meat to faulty distribution. —Router.
