REBELLION IN TRIPOLI
ENGINEERED BY TEUTONS. Rome, January 19. The rebellion in Tripoli was originated by the intrigue of a- native agitator, Barceni, who fled from Tripoli and returned supplied with Turkish and German funds. He declared ho was 'authorised. by the Sultan to organise a. rebellion against • Italy. Two tribes concentrated in three columns of six thousand strong against the Italian friendlies. The Italians attacked the approaching columns and completely routed them. The enemy left four hundred dead. The Italian casualties were not heavy. The Italians are now pursuing the enemy.—Router.
