January 1E),.9.40 p.m.) London, January 18. The British steamers Manchester Inventor (4247 tons) and Wragby (3641 tons) have been sunk.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. EXAGGERATED CLAIM Amsterdam, January 18. A Berlin message states tlia't a returned submarine claims to have sunk sixteen ships, with a total tonnage of 26,000.—Au5.-N.Z. Cable Assn. RUTHLESSNESS URGED Paris, January 18. The "Petit Parisien's" correspondent at Zurich states that meetings urging increased submarine ruthlessness are held everywhere in Germany.
