MEETING OF THE BOABD. Tho quarterly meeting of tho Eoman Catholic Education Board was held on Wednesday evening at St. Patrick's Hall. His Gracj Archbishop O'Shea presided. During the quarter St. Joseph's Committco reduced the liability on tho school buildings in that parish by £200, in addition to renovating tho Kindergarten School in Tasman Street, at a cost of nearly £100. The Thorndon Parish Committee had reduced its liability by £100, and Nowtown renovated the school building in that district, i

The need for further extension of the Eoman Catholic School system was emphasised, and at the next meeting of the board a definite scheme will ho placed beforo the hoard for consideration.

Tho Boxing Day picnic at Karori Park was most successful, and a substantial amount is expected when the accounts are completed. A preliminary meeting of the executive for St. Patrick's Day celebrations has been hold, and arrangements made, to fittingly celebrate that day. The schools under tihe jurisdiction of tho hoard weirs stated to lave had a most successful year, and secured 100 per cent, proficiency passes.
