PEACE NOTE LEAKAGE
CABINET OFFICER NAMED (Rec. January 16, 10.5 p.m.) Washington, January 15. At the Senate Committee's inquiry into the leakage respecting the Peace Note, Mi\ t T. W. Lawson named the Secretary to the Treasury,, Mr. M'Adoo, President Wilson's'son-ia-law, as the Cabinet officer who was concerned in the leak.
He declared that the Chairman of the Senate's Rules Committee told him that Count Bernstorff profited to the extent of two million dollars, but he did not beEeve the statement. Mr. M'Adoo declares the rumour connecting Mm with tlie leakage to be a shameless and wanton lie. —Reuter.
