APPOINTMENTS AND PROMOJ TIONS. The following appointments, promotions, and transfers in the New Zealand army are announced: — Headquarters Staff Corps. Lieut.-Colonel. J. G. Hughes,. D.5.0., is struck off tho strength of the NewZealand Expeditionary Force, and absorbed into the establishment. Lieut. N. W. M'D. Weir is grafted the temporary rank of captain while employed as musketry instructor in the training camps. Medical Corps. Alexander T. M'Caw, f!R.C.S.? to be captain. W. Allen and J..M. Hyde, to be temporary captains during tho period of the war. Chaplains' Department.' Rov. J. Hobbs, Chaplain of the Forces (3rd Class), to be Chaplain T (2nd Class), and bo posted to tho Retired List. 2nd Lieut. ,T. "\V. Crampton is granted tho honorary rank of captain while acting as Provost-Marshal and Judge of the Native Court in Samoa. Captain J. Ti. Roper. Reserve of Officers. Territorial Force, England, is appointed Assistant .Embarkation Officer with the New Zealand Forces.
