HOROWHENUA SHOW
Entries in connection with the Horo■whonua show, which is to be held on - the racecourse, Levin, on Wednesday, January 31, are coming to hand satisfactorily, and favoured-with fine weather the association hopes that the 1917 show will eclipse all previous ones. ■There will be the usual attractions in the way of competitions, men's driving, ladies' driving, jumping, walking, etc., and there will also be the various sideshoms.whioh help to make tlio day's outing interesting to one a-ndl all. The purebred cattle classos are expected to "be superior to anything yet shown in 'Levin, notwithstanding that at the 1916 ; show the quality was particularly good, and. was much commented 'upon by tiho various judges who were present. /In ■ the sheep classes the entries mil bo , quito equal to previous years, if not 1 better, : but owing to the scarcity of labour, many farmers who would' be ' exhibitors find it difficult'to give the . time in: getting their exhibits ready for '.show purposes. - Being a patriotic show, the profits of which are to be handed' to tho Horowlt'enua County War Relief Association, the Show Committee hope to he favoured with a record atteiidanoe, and a ' good number of entries. . General entries close with the secretary, bos 27, Levin, at 9 o'clock this evening. Late entries will be received up to 5 p.m. I on Saturday, January 20, and no extra charge will be made for entrance.
