A meeting of tlio council of the Dominion Bowling Association will be held in tlio Wellington Club's pavilion this evening at 8 o'clock! A peculiar coincideuco happened on tho upper green at tho Wellington Club's grounds yesterday, in a match between tho Fcildiug (Saywell) and Victoria (Redstone) rinks. Tho gamo was being played on Ilink No. 13, and on tho thirteenth head both rinks had 13 points each to their credit. The gamo was ultimately won by tho JTcilding team, after a close finish.

Ono of tho biggest wins in K eection yesterday was tho defeat by James's (Wellington) rink by Laurenson's (Terraco End), tho latter piling up 40 points, while James's rink scored 15. Great interest was taken, in the gamo played between tho rinks skipped by Maxwell Walker (Ponsonby) and Porteous (Wollington) yesterday, on tho Lyall Bay green. The gamo was splendidly 'contested, and ended in a win for tho Auckland rink, 24—18. A feature of tho present tournament is tho largo number of comparatively young men who aro- now playing the game. Tho day of tho long whitowhiskorecl bowler appears to Tiavo disappeared, and the younger men mako tho gamo fairly lively on occasions. In the pairs contest some of tho men were called upon to play eight 16-head gamos in tho ono day, which would bo far too energetic a day'a work for tho grey-beards of tho green, who take pleasure in a quiet roll-up of a sunny afternoon.

. Tho Trentham Camp Band is to play this evening and to-morrow evening at tho electric, light bowls tourney at tho Wellington Club's green, Wordsworth Street. A large > attendance is anticipated: ' :

Tho Howling and general public are again reminded of tho unique bowling tournament by electric light to ho played on tho Wellington Club's fine' green this_ evening. FaiU entries have been received,, and it is anticipated that the ensemblo, taken with the fijio concert to bo given, on tho balcony, should provide- an attraction that nono should ■miss. After 9.30 p.m. there aro to be drawing, trailing, and driving competition on tho upper green. On tho tennis lawn the commercial travellers aro to sell "lucky onvolopes" for tho benefit of tho fund ( and as some valuable articles aro to be sold, investors should bo many. The Trentham Band will bo in attendance.
