In .October last the Auckland Pro- £ vhicial Aeropjune Committeo forwarded to' the Overseas Club, London, through . tJie Hon. Arthur Myers (president of ' : the Overseas Club, N.Z.), Uio sum of , £262 125., being the balance of funds collected in' Auckland and district for . the purchase of a gift aeroplane of the strongest and best type procurable for presentation to the-War Office. A pre- f vious amount of £2500 had already been collected and forwarded by the comi mitteo in *this connection, so that the War Office is now iu receipt from the citizens of Auckland of a total sum of £2762 12s.j with which it is acquiring s a fully-equipped Onorao-Vickors biplane * for service with the Flying Corps. Mr. J Evelyn "Wrench.,the hoii. secretary of l the Overseas Club in London, in acknowledging the receipt of the balance mentioned above, desires to con- j vey his grateful tlianks to all concerned for their further generous contribution, and intimates that in, duo eonrso photographs of the machine and etaff will be dispatched for exhibition jii New, Zealand. .
