Chrlstchurch, January 9. Altohough a few lines of wheat aro occasionally submitted, neither millers nor merchants care to make any offer for it until something definite is settled. The wheat market is, therefore, at a standstill. New oats, mostly Algerians, are coming forward, but the demand is practically for seed lines, and is not -very active. For really good lines, from 2s. 9d. to 2s. lid. at country stations is offered. Ryegrass seed is offering freely, and is apparently in plentiful supply this season. Good weighty seed is saleable, but light is neglected. Yesterday's splendid fall of rain willgreatly benefit root crops. BEAN AND POLLARD. (Rcc. January 9, 8.30 p.m.) Sydney, January 9.
