HINTS TOR AMATFAJR PHOTOGRAPHERS. In connection, with tho eclipse of the moon to-night a gentleman who has been vory successful with his camera in "shots at the nighfe sky," sands a few useful hints for the guidance of amateur camera men who may wish to try their luck with the lunar phenomenon to-night. First of all, ho says, one most get up the best convenient height—the real enthusiast doosn'fc mind wheher it is convenient or not, ho gets there—and awaits the commencement of the eclipse. The plate used mostly is the Imperial Special Itapid, or any other of equal speed and quality, and the number is FS. Twelve or fifteen exposures are taken on the 6amo plate, of one second ench, at 15-mi7iute mtervals. The Tesult is a series of images ncrosit the plate, separated by a fractional distance, ami each depicting a progre.ssive phaso of the eclipse. Incidentolly tho result will also include—if all joes well—a vieir of the city by night, with all it twinkling lights.
