ANZAC PICTURES
No one devoid of personal knowledge of the Gallipoli Peninsula can have any idea of the formidable physical conditions of Hint long stretch of territory. Foi - a full realisation of them ire have had to wait for the- draughtsman for the' extraordinarily interesting water-colour sketches of Sapper Moore-Jones, which are to be exhibited in Wellington from Wednesday next, in the premises at Culedonian Chambers, 33 Willis Street, ahove Hart Bros. It is also announced that at stated intervals tile eoldier-artist will deliver descriptive lectures on tho pictures and relate incidents which occurred during his stay on tho peninsula. Though the sketches in the main have considerable pictorial charm, it is as faithful records of the structure of the land, and of the military advantages taken of its conformation that command attention. Every child who is old enough to bo thrilled by tales of bravery should hear the story of Anzac retold beside these pictures, and cvory man and woman who is bound b'y the ties of blood or friendship to those who toot paTfc in tho storming of the peninsula should most asuredly view these historical pictures. The "Morning Post," London, Bays: "It would be a recognition of rioble eorvico and colonial art were the National Arts Collection Fund miso a subscription to purchase this collection for presentation to the British Museum or South Kensington." The collection is not for sale, and this will be tho only opportunity of. tho public viewing the pictures.
