CAPTURE OF HOWITZERS (Rec. January 5, 8.30 p.m.) London, January. 5. East Africa official: "Wo stormed.on. Monday strongly-entrenched linos in . the Mgcta Valley, southward of the TJluguru Hills, inflicting heavy casualties, and capturing several guns and" howitzers. We pursued the enemy to within cloven miles of llio north-west of fiibambau-e, towards the Ruiiji valley. 'Meanwhile a detached column-by a detour. through trackless country established itself astride tho roads leading southward from Ruiiji valley. Our forces further east are astride the tracks leaaing southward from _ the Ruiiji delta, where thero are considerable enemy forces.
