This was won t>y tlif J I'almerston North, troop. The cam; t was fortunate in possessing two bands, i' mado up by Life-Saving Sooute, viz.. Pal mors to a North Brass i Band aud D'eildiug Drum and I'ife. 'Apart from , ihc excellent training to which atten- ; tion was given, the scouts ontortained the residents t-o two special concerts, 1 and oh Sunday two services wera lield, coiiductcd by the General Superintendent, Krigadicr Hoare, which wore attended not only by tho'scouts, but by quite a considerable number of tho residents. Commissioner Hodder and staff visited tho camp on two occasions. t During their stay in camp permission 1 was kindly granted by the military au- :■ fchorities for the boys '• to bathe ill : Scorching Isav, and this was much apj predated. residents were also extremely kind to tho hoys. Tho Lifc- • Saving Scouts of tho Salvation Army ■ are affiliated with tho Dominion Scouts, ' but are controlled by their own organisation.
