FATAL TRAP ACIDENT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, January 3. Miss Jlillio Day, who was injured yesterday at Mihiwaka. as tho result of ebing thrown from a trap, died in the Hospital this aftcrnoou. FARM LABOURER SHOT. Gore, January 3. A farm labourer named Andrew John Diukson, aged 3-1, employed on his unclo's farm iit Otaua, 12 miles from Gore, was found phot through tho head on Tuesday evening in a river-bed. A discharged pea-rifle was found alongside the body. Death ensued later. Deceased had been in ill-health for some time. DROWNING ACCIDENTS. By Teleijrai)h--PresK Association-CoDyrijlit (Rec. January 3j 8.10 p.m.) Sydney, January 3. Numerous drowning accidents are reported. While a family was paddling in the Manning River two girls v. r ore drowned. In Adelaide seven young men went out sailing, and the boat was overturned. Three swam ashore and four aro missing.
