She leaves Sydney on the return on January 10, and is due at Wellington, via Auckland, Gisi borne, and Napier, on January 19. KIA OUA AND TAINUI. The head office of the Shaw, Savill. and Albion Company advise that both the Kia Ora and Tainui, which have been discharging cargo at Wellington, will sail to-day for Lyttelton and Dunedin. MAJIARI AT AUCKLAND. The S.S. and A. Company advise that tho Mamari, -which arrived at Auckland at 6 a.m. yesterday, is due at Wellington about next Friday or Saturday week. SAINT DTTNSTAN CHARTERED. According to tho Sydney "Shipping List," tho steamer Saint Dunstan is at present en route to New' Zealand, and has been chartered to load for an ovorseas port. , EDWARD LTJCKENBACH LEAVES. Cable advico reports the departure from New York of tho American cargo steamer Edward Luckeuba-ch. She is expected at Wellington, via Panama, early in February, -^. MOTUEKA YEARLY RETURN. A roturn is to hand from the Hotucha Harbour Board of the export of produco from that port. MESS-TABLE. GOSSIP. Cable advice received in Sydney states that Captain J. D. Andrews, R.N.R., commander of tho R.M.S. Morea, died, of heart fajluro at sea about December 12, whilo ' ;he vessel was approaching Gibraltar,.
, Captain Andrews was very well known in the Royal mail service between London and Australia, having joined tho P. and O. Lino in 1884. Ho was a retired commander of the R.N.R. Mr. Cadiz, chief officer, has taken command of the vessel, which is on hor way to Australia.' Captain Thomas N. Hill, master of tho Karori. has signed off that vessel. Mr. H. Gilvaroy, third mate of tho Karori, has come ashore. Mr. G. Allport, Secretary for Marine, advises that tho Hiuemoa worked Farewell > Spit on Tuesday and Stephen Island yesterday. She also overhauled a number of buoys in the Sounds yesterday, and was due at Picton last night. J?o mention was made of The llrothero lighthouse, and she may have to work there to-day. Sho is expected hero to-night. . She sails on her trip round the southern lighthouses and harbours about Wednesday noxt. The Himitangi is expected to reach Lyttelton this morning from the Chatham . Islands. It has been decided- that tho' Himitanri shall leave Lyttelton to-morrow . for Wellington, and sho sails from here for tho Chatham Islands direct on Mon- . day next. The Waimea is due from Terakohe THtli . sheep for Petone to-day, and will leave Wellington for Nelson and the West Coast at 5 p.m. on Friday. Messrs. Dalgety and Company advise that tho Oropuki is, according to latest advice, now duo in Wellington on Saturday, and sails on Saturday for NelEon, • Takaka, Terakohe, and Nydia- Bay. Messrs. Bannatyno and Co. advise that 1 the powder schooner Huia is to leave Auckland to-day with transhipments ex 1 the Kia Ora for Gisborne, Napier, and Wellington. Sho should get here about 1 the end of next week. . . Tho Monowai. which arrived in Wellington yesterday morning from Lyttelton, sails at 5 p.m. -to-day for Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland.
