CpNFERENCES BEING HELD. , London, December 28. Preliminary conferences for the settlement of the Irish question arc already being' held, and definite progress is expected immediately. It is understood that Mr. Lloyd George (the Prime Minister) is forcing the pace by'sending additional Government representatives to assist Mr. H. E.
