"SUMMER TIME"
SCHEME DECIDEDLY POPULAR, London, December The Home Office announces that the Chambers of Commerce, seeking a verdict on the results of the adoption of "summer time," have received replies which show that the, scheme is decidedly popular. It results in a considerable saving of artificial light, which, was beneficial to the industrial classes, especially in dense manufacturing centres. The workers had better health, and spent, the extra daylight outdoors, chiefly in the cultivation of gardens.—Aus.N.Z. Cablo Assn.
