REMINDERS. • Letter mails for Expeditionary Forces will close on Wednesday, January, 3, at 8 p.m. The next best dispatch for correspondence addressed to United Kingdom and Continent of Europe will hfi via San Francisco, closing at Wellington, per Maltai on Thursday, January 4, at 1 p.m.

As correspondence for all neutral countries is subject to censorship it ie urged in order to avoid delays that such correspondence be posted in ample time for the mail, the day previous to its dispatch if possible. ■ Parcels for dispatch by steamers and trains, with the exception of the usual ferry, steamers for southern offices, close at the Chief Post Office, Wellington, one hour hefore the advertised times of closing of mails. , The parcel-post mail per Main Trunk express closes at the 0.P.0. at 11.30 a.m., and for the south per ferry steamer at 5.45 p.m. Late letters for mails .beyond' the Dominion cannot in future be posted on the steamer, but must be posted in the latelettcr posting-box at the Chief Post Office up to the appointed time shown on the

mail notice. ' . , , Unless otherwise spccifled, registered letters and parcels-post packages must be handed in and money-orders obtained one hour before the ordinary mail closes. On Saturday. December 30, the let-ter-carriers will make a full afternoon delivery in the City and suburbs for which correspondence must be posted at the Chief Post Office by 1.40 p.m. Correspondence addressed to streets in the City and suburbs will be delivered from the lettercarriers' department (entrance upstairs' from Featherston Street at the Ohief Post Office) from 8 to 9 p.m., also the public delivery counter vrill be open for delivery of correspondence addressed .to the Chief Post Office from Bto 9 p.m. The parcel delivery counter will be opened from 8 to 9 p.m. On Monday, January 1 (New Tear » Bay), the Postal Department will be closed in all its branches. Mails for dispatch by steamers sailing on New Year's Day will close at 8 p.m. oil the previous Saturday. The only dispatches of mails by trains on New Year's Day will close as follows:—For Wairarapa, Hawke'a Bay, Manawatu, Rangitikei. Wanganui. and Taranaki districts at 5.45 a.m.. for Auckland and Auckland district at 8 a.m. The City and suburbs receivers will not bo cleared during the day, but the midnight clearances will bo made as usual.
