THE WOOL REQUISITION
CHARGES OF THE BROKERS.
Agreement litis now been reached on almost -the last detail of tho wool requisition scheme about which question pould arise. For a; long timo the Minj ister and tho brokers havo been discussing tho rata of payment to be' allowed to tho broking "firms for their services. They asked for 5-Bd. per lb., and. tho Minister has contended for a lower rate. It is understood that the latest proposal, and tliat likely to bo adopted, )s that the brokers will be relieved of a certain-service, or certain services, and- that the rate-to be paid to them will bo 9-16 d. per lb. The . difference in rato may appear small, but it was estimated that at' o-Bd. per lb. tlio brokers: all over New Zealand would receive for .their services about half a million sterling.
