f Professor Julius ."Wolf, Germany's .foremost statistician, liag published some new figures about Germany and ' Austria-Hungary's; war costs as the recent necessities of tho campaign have affected them. He estimates* that the war now uses up £100.000,000 of Germany's money a month, while it costs 'Austria-Hungary £66,660,000 a month. To make this bitter financial pill sweeter for Hun consumption,, Professor Wolf says that while Gormany and 'Austria-Hungary's present rate of expenditure (of, roundly. £2,000,000,000 a year may mount in t"he third year of war to £2,500,000,000), their Allied enemies' expenditure is not less than '£5,000,000.000, or double what the Germanic Powers are spending.
