Briefly, the proposals are to Germanise the Bagdad railway not only as far as Bussorali, hut also to Builder Abbas, on the Persian Gulf. "Only so would the Bagdad railway be completely removed from. * British control and. a blow delivered against England's supremacy in the Persian Gulf. x There appears to be two railway projects: the first the : Bagdad "which may ho described as Constantinople to Kiaou-Cliao" (the German port in' China captured by the Japanese and British), and another a Central Asian line-from Turkey to China, extending Turkish U-e:, German)' influence over Persia and "strengthening. the semi-independent neighbouring States of Afghanistan and Baluchistan, now under AngloIndian influence.".
