He lmd had opportunities of discussing the prospects of recruiting with State Ministers. the proprietors and editors of the leading newspapers, and leaders of relifious thought in hotli Sydnoy and Brisbane. Everyone had promised warm support. ... "Perhaps the most interesting experiences I had," continued Mr. Mackmnon, "were at meetings of representatives ot the various sporting organisations in the two northern capitals. These associations, of course, have fjent.a great many of their members to tlie war, but they are anxious to do everything they can to co-operato with tho State recruiting, committees, and have formed committees of their own for the purpose of .getting the whole df the snorting communities 111 these two large States tolielo both m Svdnev and Brisbane and in the country districts. These sporting organisations will co-onerate with headquarters, and the sporting interests in the .various Federal districts will I>e organised locally to helo the Federal district committees. The Commercial Travellers' Association in Sydney, which has been to the fore in past recruiting movements. has promised every assistance.
