The Takamatua elieeso factory, which was totally destroyed by fire on Sunday night, was tlio third largest on Banks Peninsula. The elieeso in stock was 6aved, but tlio building was a complete loss. The factory waß the first of its kind on Banks Poninoular, having been erected in 1893. The first season's output of the Takamatna, cheese factory amounted to some <15 tons, which brought lid. per poynd in the London market. The latest shipment realised lOd. per pound.
