NEW ZEALANDERS AT HOME
\ CHRISTMAS FESTIVITIES.

London, December 25. Sir Thomas Mackenzie presided at a dinner to three hundred New Zealanders on furlough iu the Wesleyan Hall at Westminster. Mr. Massey, Sir Joseph Ward, Lord Ranfurly, Lord Plunket, Sir James Carroll, Mr. Raymond, and Mr. Moss Davis were present. The men were plentifully provided with Christmaß fare.
Mr. Massey, addressing them, extended New Zealand Christmas greetings to the soldiers. "I?ofcwithsianding the Swiss and American Notes," he said, "we are not going to he cheated out of the fruits of victory."
Sir Joseph Ward, in supporting Mr. Massey» said they were not going to have a premature peace, but one that would last for ages. They would not have a stoppage war which in reality was meant only to give to their enemies hreatTiing time. Lord Ranfurly recalled what New Zealand had done in the Boer War. He had never expected such vast numbers of New Zealanders would be fighting now at the country's call. He thought with wonder ou the stream of Reinforcements the Dominion was sending. Tho men were entertained at a concert and ton in the afternoon and a
danco in the evening. The soldiers at Hornchurch and Wal-ton-on-Thames also were entertained in their respective hospitals. Mr. Massey, Sir Joseph Ward, and Sir Thomas Mackenzie"visited the wounded at Walton.— : Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
