NEW ZEALANDERS AT HOME
London, November 1 1. Miss Elhchvyn Williams, of Napier, has left London for Llandaff, South Wales.
Mr. M. Morrison, of' Taihape, is coming to England to visit his son, who is in a military liospital.
Mrs. A. K. Watson and her father, Dr. James Macpherson, of Dunetlin, leavo in a few days on a visit to Scotland.
Dr. C. A. Cotton, of Victoria College, Wellington, has taken a flat in High Hoi born, _ and shortly goes to America on a visit.
Mr. H. M. Smeeton, of Auckland, who has several sons m the British Almy, has arrived in England, and intends to take up special Y.M.C.A. work.
Mrs. Adrian Higgle and Miss Campion, of Wanganui, have been working at tho N.Z. Soldiers' Club, Russell Square; since its opening, and hope to give their services as long as they aro needed.
Mrs. Burrows (Canterbury), widow of Captain Burrows, who was killed at the front a few months after their marriage, 'has recently obtained her certificate for proficiency in motor-driv-uig, and intends to offer herself for War service.
Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Griffiu, of Auckland, arrived in England by the Rotorua, after an absence of twelve years, to visit their parents and relatives. After visiting the English .provinces they will go to Portadown, County Armagh, Ireland, for Christmas; to Scotland for the New Year, and afterwards to l'aris. They do not intend to ro- , turn'to Nsw Zealand until after tho ffar. •<
Mr. Arthur 'E. Mooro,, of Christchurcli, manager for tlio Yorkshire Insurance Co., Ltd., lias arrived in England. Mr. Mooro camo. to enlist either in tho Flying Corps or Motoi Transport. The 11.1'.C. would liavo accepted him on "lis qualifications, but he is over age. At the moment he is waiting' instructions from tho War Office. !
_ Mr. Joseph A. Petre, who saw active service in Gallipoli from the famous April 25 and four months onwards, wa3 invalided out on August 12, 1915, discharged from hospital early in December,' and he was himself in England until May, when lie took a course of instruction in machine gunnery with the Grenadier Guards at Chelsea. After that lie went to Franco and rejoined his regiment, the Ist Canterbury Infantry. He was wounded in the Sommo advance on September 16, and is now in England spending his' sick leave in London, at tho expiration of which he goes to Salisbury" en route for France. I din man, but .he has not been there for over four years. London, October 26. Mrs. Begg and lier children are coming over, to join Surgeon-Col. Begg. ill's. Allen, of Allendale, is coming to England to be near Major Allen, who been -wounded at the front. j\ Mrs. Nevill, of Bluff Hill,' Napier, and Miss Stuart, daughter of the late Bishop Stuart, are coming to England. _Mrs. Radclyffe has returned to tho. New Zealand Hospital at Balmer Lawn, Brockenhurst. Captain Radclyffe is at the front with the New Zealanders. Mrs. E. J. Mirams (Christchurch) is coming to England to' be near her husband, Sergt.E. J. Mirams. She will be accompanied hy her sister, Miss Dovcnish-Meares, who hopes to take up war work here. Miss M. B. Calders, of Wangauui, who has been doing Red Cross work in three different hospitals, has returned to London after spending a fortnight with Mrs._ Harris St.. John at Terrick Hall, Whitchurch, and a week with Dr. and Mrs. Lines (lato of Wanganui) at their homo in Hertfordshire. After another week's furlough Miss Calders intends to resume work with the British Red' Cross, and later among the New Zealand 1 troops? ■ '
