RIFLE SHOOTING
* OLD NAVAL OLUB. Tlie Old Naval Defence Rifle Club opened their competition series on Saturday afternoon on _the Polhill Gully range. The., conditions were seven shots at each, 300 and 500 yards, for trophies presented by Colonel J. I Duncan, Major A. S. Biss, Colonel C. Cooper, Captain E. D. Bell, Hon. C. Johnston, and Mr. A. Moore. Winners of prizes will this year accept certificates only, and the money usually devoted to trophies will he paid into patriotic funds.
