The object of tliis crosscut ie to intersect the main lode, which has deviated, to tho west side of the main drive some distance back. Total distance driven from sfoaft now measures 390 feet, and in that* distance 18 sets of timber have be<xn N placed. Winding machinery is running- well, while water in Bhaft j© no trouble."
