' )0 ' inown by tho general titlo of tho Homes, special efforts were made to give the inmates a lianny Christmas. - Ohiro Home. At the Ohiro Home, whoro there are about 120 inmates, a hearty dinner in which tho traditional roast' beef and Christmas pudding wero leading itenis was served. Tho inmates all got presents—pipes, tobacco, and pocket handkerchiefs for tho men, and aprons and scented soap for the women. In tho evening a concert.was held, and some of tho trustees addressed tho inmates. Home of compassion. N
The numerous little children at Mother Mary Aubert's Homo of Compassion, Island Bay, had Christmas made as happy as possible for them. On Friday they had a Christmas tree, so ill at "they would allhave their toys for Christmas Day. Yesterday Christmas dinner was served in a big marquee, on\ account of the heat. There were fewer visitors than in'other years, but many_ donations of- .cash and goods were received. Among those who sent toys were: Mrs. Vivian Riddiford, Mrs. Walter Johnston, Messrs. Kirkcaldie and Stains, and xJ. Myers and Co. Among those who 6cnt goods wero Mr. Jacob Joseph and the Champion Co.'
